In a typical independent living
facility, each suite is equipped with a Telecom 4000 or 400
and a portable Amie pendant. At the push of a button, instant
voice response is available whenever assistance is required,
from anywhere in the resident’s suite. All residents
can access the emergency response system from their rooms,
using our wireless Amie pendants, or by pushing the alarm
button in their suites.
Common areas and public washrooms
are equipped with an emergency telephone. The staff carries
wireless telephones, which enables them to respond to calls
from anywhere in the building complex, as well as control
the front door through the PBX telephone switch. Using the
Telecom 4000 for resident Nursecall gives a significant competitive
advantage, since each resident would be equipped with a pendant
enabling them to call for help from anywhere in their suite.
Their call can be programmed to go to either the reception,
wireless telephones or to a commercially available pocket
pager or cellular service.
